This widespread affliction is a leading cause of chronic headaches and facial pain. Temporomandibular joints connect the lower jaw to the skull. Problems arising in this area because of arthritis, dislocations, fractures, or tension-relieving habits such as jaw clenching or teeth grinding, can result in TMJ. Symptoms include headaches, clicking sounds while chewing or opening the mouth, tenderness and pain in the jaw area, difficulty with biting or chewing, and a decreased ability to open and close the mouth.

"During the past five years, Dr. Wonson has successfully treated me for shoulder and low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and TMJ dysfunction. At every stage of the treatment process, she has not only provided safe and effective medical treatment, but has also patiently explained the "why's," "how's," "do's" and "don'ts" associated with each ailment. Since my body does not tolerate oral pain killers, I feel fortunate to have found a doctor who can alleviate my symptoms without the use of artificial medication."
- Severa, Insurance Claims Adjuster
