Tendinitis is the painful inflammation of a tendon, the thick, fibrous cord that attaches muscles to bone. The most common cause of this musculoskeletal condition is overuse or injury during work or play, particularly when associated with poor posture or using a limb in an awkward position. Symptoms include pain and stiffness aggravated by movement, and restrained motion. The most commonly affected areas include the shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and ankle. Acute tendinitis may become chronic if not treated.

"When I first experienced weakness and pain in my wrists, I was particularly concerned about the potential debilitating effects on my career as a musician. Dr. Wonson diagnosed me with tendinitis, and administered a series of spinal/skeletal adjustments as well as nutrition and lifestyle recommendations. She also taught me about the underlying contributing factors to my condition, which included posture, muscle tension and depleted electrolytes. Now that I am more aware of how my body and lifestyle contribute to my condition, I've been able to minimize the symptoms associated with tendinitis, and stop its progression."
