Industry experts estimate that more than 10 million sports-related injuries occur every year. These injuries can generally be classified in two basic categories. Traumatic injuries result from direct causes such as harsh blows, unexpected accidents or sudden twists. Overuse injuries cause gradually increasing pain, and are directly associated with the overuse of muscles and joints.
