Caused by hypersensitivity of the immune system, allergies are a misdirected immune response designed to protect the body against harmful substances. An allergy occurs when the body reacts to allergens that are generally harmless. During the first exposure, the body responds with a mild immune response that then increases in intensity with additional exposures. Symptoms can include wheezing, sneezing, itching, swelling, mucus production, muscle spasms, rashes, hives and difficulty breathing, among others. The duration and severity of allergic reactions vary from patient to patient.

"Being a CPA, spring time is a critically important time of year for me. It is tax season, which means I work long and hard hours. Unfortunately, I suffer from hay fever and terrible sinus problems, which also like to pop up during this time of year. Thanks to Dr. Wonson's treatments of acupuncture, chiropractic and herbal remedies, I am now able to work those long hours without fatigue, hay fever or sinus ailments."
